About the Event
The hidden wonders of St Mary's Tudor past
Hidden within the walls of St Mary's church there are wonders from our Tudor past:
• the remains of a medieval mural, whitewashed by the Tudors;
• the staircase to nowhere which tells of a Tudor catastrophe;
• broken glass and vandalised statues which evoke the sounds of soldiers camping in the church.
Discover these stories of our history hidden right under our noses here in Yate.
The exhibition runs from July 8th – 19th in St Mary’s church - pop in to take an audio tour of the church and see the displays telling the stories.
