Restart of worship services
Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday we will be restarting public worship in some of our churches on Sunday 5th July. A lot of work has already been undertaken to prepare for this moment including the thorough cleaning of churches and the preparation of a full risk assessment and plan. We are currently still waiting to hear from the Church of England what guidelines we should follow but it is clear that seating will need to be organised to ensure proper social distancing and there will be no singing for the time-being. Once the guidance is available the Rector will write to everyone on our database to provide more details and the assurance that all appropriate measures are in place to ensure the safety of those attending services. On 5th July there will be the usual services at 10.30am at St. Nix and St. James, but we are having to adapt the pattern of services at St. Mary's because we cannot adequately clean the church between services. Accordingly there will be a single all-age service at 10am. For the time-being St. Peter's will remain closed and 630 Praise will remain online. We will also be continuing with our 10am recorded service online for the time being as we are well aware that there are still people who are shielding, or housebound or are not yet ready to return to church. More details will follow next week.
